What the Board Does

The HEF Board provides strategic leadership, governance, oversight, and stewardship to ensure the organization remains strong, effective, and mission-focused. Board members help guide the foundation’s long-term direction, uphold accountability and integrity, and serve as ambassadors for HEF throughout the community. Board members also bring expertise from fields such as business, education, finance, operations, law, marketing, communications, and philanthropy to help HEF grow thoughtfully and sustainably.

Board Commitment

Board members are expected to:

• Attend and actively participate in board and committee meetings
• Serve as ambassadors for HEF
• Support fundraising and community engagement efforts
• Make an annual personal gift and help advance a culture of philanthropy
• Participate in major HEF events and activities

Board members serve up to two consecutive three-year terms.
