To make the Sixth Annual Excellence in Education Celebration truly shine, we are seeking community sponsors who share our commitment to preparing students to be #LifeReady. Sponsorship support helps power our programs, elevate educator innovation, and extend our impact well beyond one night.
The Excellence in Education Celebration cannot happen without YOU and you don't want to miss this event!

21st Century Family Engagement
Holiday Magic on Stage
In December, HEF’s 21st Century Program gave students and their families the chance to experience The Nutcracker together. With more than 200 tickets provided, many families enjoyed live ballet and music for the very first time.
These shared experiences create lasting memories and show students that learning and inspiration extend far beyond the classroom.
Henrico Education Foundation Launches Henrico Alumni & Friends Website
Henrico Education Foundation on behalf of the Henrico County Public Schools is proud to announce the launch of the Henrico Alumni & Friends website, a new online platform designed to help alumni connect, collaborate, and support current students.
“We’re excited for the launch of this new website,” said Jennifer Boyle, Chief Executive Officer at Henrico Education Foundation. “Our goal is to provide a space to share experiences, exchange resources, and support one another while continuing the strong tradition of Henrico pride.”
GRANT HIGHLIGHT: "Zoom in on Engagement in the Art Room"
Freeman HS teacher, Ms. Hurlburt, is one of many art teachers who received an advanced digital document scanner. The technology allows her to project demonstrations in real time on the Promethean board. "The document camera increases student engagement by giving the students the ability to see demonstrations regardless of where they are sitting in the classroom. The document camera is highly effective with language learners and students with learning differences." -Lindsey Hurlburt, HCPS Teacher
GRANT HIGHLIGHT: "Teeing Up for Tomorrow"
“Teeing Up for Tomorrow” is a #LifeReady Solutions Grant awarded to Hungary Creek and Fairfield Middle Schools in Cycle 2 of the 2024–25 school year. The grant team developed a schedule to share the golf simulators across STEAM clubs, curriculum fairs, and PE classes at both schools. The simulators were also featured at Elko Middle School’s STEAM in Sports Day in January, where hundreds of HCPS students participated—many trying golf for the first time. During PE, students use simulator data to calculate the most effective approach to hitting a golf ball, including arm path arc, stride length and center of gravity, force, and impact angle.
“The CarMax Foundation is proud to invest in the Henrico Education Foundation as a meaningful way to support our community. HEF helps bridge gaps that public funding alone can’t, creating more opportunities for students and educators to thrive. Investing in our public schools is an investment in the future of Henrico County.”
-Chasity Miller, The CarMax Foundation & HEF Board Member
