School Community Initiatives

Division-wide experiences, recognitions, strategic supports, and shared school-community efforts that strengthen connection, celebration, and engagement across HCPS.

Challenger Day

HEF is proud to support Challenger Day, an annual event in October, that brings together hundreds of students from across Henrico County for a day focused on inclusivity, sportsmanship, and fun. Through adaptive sports activities, hands-on experiences, and support from volunteers and community partners, Challenger Day creates an unforgettable opportunity for students of all abilities to connect, participate, and thrive.

Teacher of the Year

HEF is proud to support HCPS’s Teacher of the Year Program, which celebrates the dedication, innovation, and impact of outstanding educators across the division. By helping recognize these exceptional teachers, HEF honors those who inspire students every day and strengthen the future of our community through education.

All Henrico Reads

HEF is proud to support All Henrico Reads, HCPS’s division-wide literacy initiative that encourages a love of reading and shared learning experiences among students, families, and staff. By helping provide access to books and literacy-focused activities, HEF supports the program’s mission to strengthen reading skills, spark meaningful conversations, and build a culture of literacy throughout the Henrico community.

LifeReady '26

HCPS's LifeReady is an interactive career and life readiness event that helps HCPS students explore future pathways after graduation. Through hands-on exhibits, career demonstrations, and connections with local businesses, colleges, and community organizations, students gain valuable insights into the opportunities available to them and the skills needed to succeed in the workforce and beyond.
