Virginia Early Learning Partners (VAELP) is an initiative of the Henrico Education Foundation that focuses on programs that build kindergarten readiness and increases access to eligible 3- and 4-year-olds to quality preschool programs.
- Helps families find and enroll in public preschool programs for 4-year-olds through HCPS and VAELP.

Partners with childcare centers to improve quality and provide tuition assistance to eligible families.
- Expands early learning opportunities before school, after school, and during breaks.

Offers self-paced professional development for preschool teachers and caregivers.

Provides coaching and support to help early learning programs improve quality, sustainability, and compliance.
Our 21st Century programs after-school programs are grant funded programs aimed to improve student learning and build stronger families and healthier communities. These programs provide academic tutoring and a wide variety of enrichment activities designed to increase and support student achievement, attendance, and positive behaviors during the school day and after school. These programs operate at no cost to families through grant funds. Schedules vary by school site.

Our Learning & Discovery Program provides a wide variety of enrichment excursions designed to support student achievement in a safe and fun environment. These fee-based programs operate each afternoon that school is in session until 6pm.
