Takel Shavers
Director of Training and Coaching
Takel Shavers is the Director of Training and Coaching with Henrico Education Foundation. She joined HEF in September 2023. Takel began her career as a public-school educator. She taught for sixteen years before joining the non-profit sector. Prior to joining the HEF Team, Takel served as the Senior Regional Director of Youth Development and the Operation Director of Curriculum Development and Power Scholars in Youth Development at The YMCA of Greater Richmond. She received her Bachelor of Science in Child Development and Master Certification in Early Childhood Education degrees from The University of Pittsburgh.
Takel enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters, and a mother, as well as cruising, listening to music, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. Her favorite part of working at HEF is building relationships and strengthening her HEF team and community.
