Cougars with Charisma
Carver Elementary
The HEF innovative grant project Cougars with Charisma is designed to help the school connect with the community and build strong relationships through motivational assemblies and engaging family events. This schoolwide community project also promotes positive student behavior through the school's R.O.A.R. Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports System as well as by recognizing “Cougar of the Quarter” recipients.
The school hosted many events this spring as part of the grant project and utilized supplies provided by the grant: Spring Festival, Field Day, Movie Night, Kindergarten Spring Program and International Night. A new portable sound system was used for a dance party, movie night and opening ceremonies. More than 50 community volunteers helped with these events. The school plans to continue to grow relationships and bridge community events with school events throughout the 2022-23 school year. These events are helping Carver Elementary to build community with a focus on celebrating our diversity.
