
Taryn Coullier
Director of Curriculum
Taryn Coullier, Director of Curriculum, joined the Henrico Education Foundation team in January 2025. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in PreK-8th Grade Education, with a concentration in Middle School English and Children’s Literature from Longwood University in 2015. Taryn has also received her master’s degree in K-12 Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Special/Exceptional Education in 2016, and her K-12 Administration and Supervision post-graduate professional certificate from Longwood University in 2022. She has worked as an educator, leader and curriculum developer for the past 15 years.
Taryn is a Yale National Initiative Fellow who has had three publications for curriculum throughout the course of her career. She believes that literacy is justice for students and that history can be a vehicle by which students can learn all different subjects in an integrated manner. She understands the importance of cross-curricular learning with meaningful experiences for all students being at the forefront and knows that this learning and these experiences can be brought to life in our out of school time programming.
Taryn is both a military daughter and wife who has lived and taught in different countries around the world. She and her husband now reside in Beaverdam, Virginia. In her free time, Taryn enjoys spending time with her husband, dog, family and friends. She also enjoys traveling, reading, writing, and fitness activities and competitions in the forms of running and martial arts. Her favorite part about working with HEF is continuing her service to students and families through impactful, meaningful and equitable curriculum through after school partnerships and programming.
