Robyn's Nest

On September 27, 2025, family, friends, and members of the community gathered to honor the enduring legacy of Robyn E. Puryear at the official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Robyn E. Puryear Horticultural Learning Pavilion, now proudly housed at the ACE Center at Hermitage High School.

Hosted by the Henrico Education Foundation, this long-awaited celebration welcomed more than 100 guests who came together to commemorate Robyn’s passion for education, horticulture, and her lasting impact on students and colleagues alike.

Thanks to the generous gifts made in Robyn’s memory, this beautiful outdoor classroom has come to life — a living tribute that will inspire generations of learners to come.

The event was made even more special through the talents of the ACE Center’s own students: the exquisite cookies and cupcakes were crafted and served by the culinary arts program, while the floral arrangements were lovingly designed by the horticulture students under the guidance of Jennifer Mazza, head of the horticulture department.

We remain deeply grateful to all who contributed to making this dream a reality — a fitting tribute to a life that continues to bloom in the hearts of many.
