Amanda Abate Murphy, Major Gifts Officer for Scholarships and Endowed Gifts, began her career in the nonprofit sector more than twenty years ago. With a strong background in fundraising, volunteer and event management, relationship building, and, strategy development she is skilled in maximizing opportunities to advance the mission of organizations. With a passion for human services most of her experience comes from the health and human services community. Amanda comes to us most recently from Thrive Birth to 5 (formerly known as Smart Beginnings Greater Richmond) where she was the Senior Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships. In her spare time, she runs her own events management company where her trademark is allowing hosts to be a guest at their own party to achieve their identified goals for the event.
When not working, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family (husband and daughter), walking, reading, estate sale shopping and keeping up with her beloved dogs!
