21st Century Field Trips

This summer, 189 students participated in the Henrico Education Foundation's 21st Century Program, engaging in hands-on learning experiences that extended far beyond the classroom.

Middle school students explored history and higher education through visits to the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C., the Moton Museum, and Longwood University. Younger students traveled across Virginia to discover the LEGO Discovery Center, explore Luray Caverns, meet marine scientists in Virginia Beach, and experience STEM learning through NASA and Air & Space Museum exhibits.

These enriching opportunities helped students build knowledge, expand their horizons, and connect classroom learning to real-world experiences.

While federal grant funding supports much of the 21st Century Program, HEF enhances the experience through additional educational opportunities, enrichment activities, and student support services. Community donations help make these experiences possible and ensure Henrico students continue to have access to engaging programs that inspire learning and future success.
