Approximately 100 local students will participate in the Teachers for Tomorrow Creative Symposium on Feb. 11, 2020, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The event was developed by Henrico County Public Schools (HCPS) Career and Technical Education Program and is made possible through the support of a generous donor to the Henrico Education Foundation.
HCPS juniors and seniors enrolled in the Teachers for Tomorrow programs across the school district will participate in the event which will be held at Dorey Park Recreation Center. The Teachers for Tomorrow program fosters student interest, understanding and appreciation of the teaching profession.
This high-energy event will feature Rodney Robinson, 2019 National Teacher of the Year, as well as interactive learning sessions facilitated by Daniel Biegun, Teresa Crowson and Ynez Peterson. Dr. Amy Cashwell, HCPS superintendent, will kick off the event.
“Teachers for Tomorrow is a valuable program that encourages students to pursue teaching as a career,” says Mike Taylor, Henrico Education Foundation, CEO. “Thanks to the generosity of a local donor, we are able to underwrite the cost of the event and help build a pipeline of future teacher recruits for our schools.”
