Aaron Monroe, the Program Officer for HEF's Community Learning Centers, joined HEF in July of 2019 after nine years in the classroom. Aaron most recently taught math at Falling Creek Middle School in Chesterfield County, for five years while also directing a 21st Century Grant from the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) during his last three years there. He graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor’s degree in education after completing his student teaching in Quito, Ecuador.

Aaron is married to Kristen, has a daughter named Eliza, and a dog named Rex. Aaron loves to run, watch movies and play frisbee in his spare time. His favorite part about working for HEF is being able to make positive impacts in the lives of students and their families by working with community partners.
